Streamcast - The Company: Streamcast is an Irish owned company that was set up in January 2009 with the purpose of supplying HD or SD multi-camera recording or live feed outside-broadcast and internet streaming services. The principals are Ken O'Mahony, Paul Warde, Mark Quinn and Colin O'Mahony. Both Ken and Paul are vastly experienced lighting camera operators, Mark is an experienced editor and also owns and manages High Wire Post Production and Colin is owner-manager of the Pixels Cameras chain of stores. All bring diverse talents to the Streamcast operation making the offering unique in the marketplace.
Technical: The Streamcast technical offering is simple. A quick and easy to set-up self-contained digital vision-mixer, seven preview monitors, talk-back and hard-disk record facility is at the heart of the operation. This is connected to, up to, five Sony XDCam EX3 cameras. Each camera has tally lights, interchangeable lens and it's own (up to 32Gb continuous) recording facility. All video signal interconnect is SDI and master output can be in either HD or SD. In a typical non-live application, each camera records 'ISO' to its own camera-cards and the vision-mix output is recorded to a separate card recorder. In addition, the vision-mixer has an extra DVI input and on-board keyer for external character-generator or graphic applications.
